Dating Tallaght

Tallaght is a large town in the traditional County of Dublin. In the past years, Tallaght has grown from a quaint Irish village to a modern bustling town.

However, the old village area, dating back to the 17th century, has a number of buildings of great historic and religious value. St. Maelruain's Church of Ireland stands majestically on the monastery ruins with a number of historic features on its grounds like the ancient St. Maelruain's Cross. St. Mary's Priory is also worth a visit.

It has wonderful grounds to explore with historic treasures including an ancient tower, the old palace gardens and the Friar's Walk. Shopaholics can shop till they drop in the town's shopping paradise-the Square Shopping Centre. After dark, there are numerous friendly Irish pubs and charming restaurants to suit every taste.
