How To Survive Valentine's Day As A Single

For some, February 14th is like a bad headache as singles are constantly reminded of their single status by the numerous singing stuffed bears, heart-shaped chocolates and the floral scent of red roses from every corner. The holiday of love, is clearly marketed as a holiday for two and with the constant reminders, it can be tricky for singles to feel in the mood for love.

Here are three tips to help singles get through Valentines Day.

Celebrate: But, just because you don’t have a significant other on Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the most significant person in your life – YOU! As the old saying goes, if you can’t beat ‘em…join ‘em.  So, what better excuse than the official “day of love” to treat yourself to a little pampering; a special girly facial, a cute little outfit or a new haircut. After all, if YOU can’t love you, how can you expect anyone else to?

Stop the Self Pity:
This is not the time to sit and mope. This is the time to create action and run with your single lifestyle.   This year, embrace being single and celebrate your single status.  What’s the point in lamenting about what you don’t have in your life; but rather consider the time as an opportunity embrace the freedom of being on your own.  Being single, and dating, is a lot more fun when you appreciate it and make the most of it.

Action:
This is also a great time to take a step out and celebrate all that is to be offered in the dating world.  There are hundreds of singles waiting for you to contact them here on Parship.  So rather than pitying yourself, or listening to negative comments from friends/family,  about why you are single,   take my advice and use this time to connect with someone new.

The main thing is to celebrate your singleness and you’ll have one of the best Valentine’s Days ever!
