PARSHIP guidebook
Jim feels alone. He needs physical closeness, someone to talk to about his day, someone who cares about him. The thought of coming home and knowing there is a partner who waits for him, makes him feel better and more confident. As soon as he is alone Jim loses his self-confidence and is not the same person anymore. So what does a partner mean to Jim? Is it love he is longing for?
Loneliness leaves some people susceptible to doubts. Does nobody like me? Why do other people live in a relationship, have a partner? Are these people better, more beautiful or better persons than me? If you have these thoughts, you should consider the following questions: What does a partner mean to you? Do you have a great personality just because you live in a relationship? Does a partner reflect your apparent value? Why can't you feel good about yourself without a partner at your side? The answer is easier than you might think. Deep inside you are insecure about yourself. You need a mirror to reflect your character positively every day.
But should a partner be such a mirror for you? Should not the feeling that your partner him- or herself is someone unique and lovable be the first step towards a relationship? This is not about you. Try to get the idea of the necessity of having a mirror, the necessity of having a partner out of your head. Get to know yourself first and start to appreciate what you find inside yourself. As a result, you will have a good life without a partner and surely find your significant other one day - perhaps on PARSHIP.ie. Believe in yourself and you will not need a "mirror-partner" anymore as Jim still does.
